Privacy policy · Effective July 22, 2026

Private by design, across every Shamrocko app.

This policy covers applications developed and published by Derek Lockovich under the Shamrocko name. Each app is designed to collect as little information as possible, stay transparent about any services it uses, and keep your data from becoming a business model.

The Shamrocko standard

  • Shamrocko apps do not contain advertising trackers.
  • Shamrocko does not sell personal information.
  • Shamrocko does not build cross-app behavioral profiles.
  • Apps collect and process only what is needed for their stated purpose.
  • App-specific storage, services, purchases, and permissions are disclosed below.

When an app needs a service

Some future apps may need an account, cloud service, analytics, or another external provider to deliver a feature. When that happens, Shamrocko will:

  • Use the service only when the app needs it.
  • Explain its purpose, the information involved, and the provider in that app's section of this policy.
  • Disclose the service before or when the related feature becomes available.
  • Never collect information simply because it might be useful later.

App-specific details

PuttButler

PuttButler is designed to work without accounts, advertising, behavioral analytics, or a developer-operated cloud service. It does not require an account or sign-in, sell personal information, or use scores for product analytics.

Information stored on your device

PuttButler stores the information you enter—such as player names, rounds, and scores—locally on your iPhone. Derek Lockovich and Shamrocko do not operate servers that receive or store this scorekeeping information.

If you remove PuttButler or erase its local data, copies may remain in device backups until those backups are replaced or deleted through your Apple account settings.

Backups and exports

Your PuttButler data may be included in an iPhone or iCloud device backup according to your Apple backup settings. Apple operates those backup services under its own terms and privacy policy.

If you export a backup, iOS lets you select the destination or recipient. PuttButler does not receive a copy. After export, the file is governed by the privacy and security practices of the destination you chose.

Crash diagnostics

PuttButler does not use behavioral or advertising analytics. If you have enabled sharing diagnostics with app developers in your Apple settings, Apple may provide limited crash and performance reports containing technical details such as the app version, operating-system version, device model, and information about what failed.

Diagnostics are used only to identify and fix stability problems. They are not used to profile you, track your rounds, or sell advertising.

Tips and purchases

PuttButler may offer optional tips through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment and does not provide PuttButler with your full payment-card details. Apple may provide transaction records needed to confirm a purchase and aggregated financial reporting. Tips are never required and do not unlock features.

Device permissions

Normal scorekeeping does not require access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or Bluetooth. When you export a backup, Apple's sharing interface may offer destinations and services already configured on your device.

Children's privacy

PuttButler is suitable for a general audience. Because it has no accounts and does not send scorekeeping information to developer-operated servers, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Disclosure and retention

PuttButler does not have a developer-operated database of user scores to disclose or retain. Information stored locally remains on your device until you remove it, uninstall the app, erase the device, or manage related backups. Technical diagnostics supplied by Apple are retained only as reasonably needed to investigate and fix app problems.

Changes to this policy

When an app or its data practices change, this page will be updated to reflect the new behavior. The effective date at the top shows when this policy was last revised.
