Frequently asked questions
How is PuttButler free?
PuttButler is free because Derek wanted a straightforward mini-golf scorecard and decided to make it. There are no ads or paid feature gates. Optional tips will be available for anyone who wants to support the work, but they will never be required.
Is any data tracked?
No product analytics, advertising profiles, or score tracking. Your players, rounds, and scores stay locally on your iPhone. Apple may provide basic crash diagnostics if you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers; those reports are used only to fix problems.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No. PuttButler does not require an account or sign-in, and scoring is designed to work without an internet connection.
How are my scores backed up?
PuttButler stores its data on your device. It may be included in your normal iPhone or iCloud device backup, depending on your Apple settings. You can also use PuttButler's export option when you want a separate backup.
What happens when I export a backup?
You choose where the exported file goes using Apple's sharing tools. PuttButler does not receive or keep a copy after you export it.
Which devices are supported?
PuttButler is being prepared for iPhone first. Device and operating-system requirements will be published when the app launches.
